Our story

We exist because
GoFundMe doesn't.

In Nigeria, when you need help, you send a WhatsApp message, share your account number, and hope people remember. It's stressful, informal, and often doesn't work. MyFundStory was built to change that — a dignified, beautiful way for Africans and the diaspora to raise funds from the people who love them.

It started with a promise card.

Growing up in Nigeria, birthdays came with a tradition — a promise card. A small sheet of paper listing gifts you hoped for, passed to relatives who would tick what they planned to give. It was communal, intentional, and warm.

That tradition never made it online. And so we built it. MyFundStory is the digital promise card — a place to list what you need, share it with your circle, and let your people choose exactly what they want to contribute to.

Not charity. Not begging. Just your community showing up for you — the way they always have, made easier.

What we believe

Our values aren't a wall poster.

Built with empathy

Every design decision starts with the person asking for help. We make it dignified, warm, and human — never transactional.

Community first

Money moves because relationships exist. We build tools that make it easy for your circle to show up — without awkwardness.

Built for Africa

From Lagos to London to Houston, MyFundStory speaks your language, accepts your currency, and understands your culture.

Transparent by design

Givers see exactly what their money funds. Creators withdraw only what's been raised. No vague pools, no hidden fees.

The people

Built by someone who gets it.
